One morning while walking through a local park I spied a Whitmanesque figure sitting amongst the leaves. Our eyes seemed to meet briefly; he was not smiling. I became frightened and moved on.

In the early 60's in Queens Village, there were several vacant lots where my brother and I were forbidden to go. (We went anyway...)
